Chapter 38, 'Betwixt the Ice and the Fire'

'For the good of one's soul, he'd been taught as a child, one ought not to have all ones desires.'

Jamie has a house full - all the Riordan's plus Sylvie.

This is putting a cramp in Casey's style. He and Pamela take it outside, where after fulfilling the flesh, they discuss recent events and feelings.

Casey tells Pamela that when he thought she had died in the fire, he wanted to die himself. Nothing else seemed to matter without her and he feels that perhaps his road in life has now changed.

They have a heated exchange when Pamela admits that the burned body in their bed was her rapist, Casey guesses his identity, realizes the event might've been his fault and is angry that Pamela did not think him man enough to handle it.
Pamela, just as angry tells him she hid the truth for Love!
'I love you for everything you ever were and all the things you'll become and even the things you won't ever be and I love you now just for this moment and for all the moments to come, even the ones we won't have together.'

Casey offers to take her 'Home' to America - Pamela tells him HE is her home.

I couldn't decide on a picture, so I'm using them both :-)
