Subject: Alright, I'll post to Nalana's Question up here, so it doesn't get lost down below. Obviously I'll go long so come inside>>>>

You all have your own perceptions of these men, and I in no way want to trample on that. That being said, I'll tell you what I think. :)

People often see Casey as the bad boy, which to be honest, in comparison to His Lordship- with his past, his promiscuity, not to mention all the things we will slowly find out about him as well as the fact that he's got more blood on his hands than Casey does- Casey's a bit more innocent, though not by much because he's done prison time and seen far more than most men his age.

I suspect it's Jamie's complexity that draws some people, and Casey's straightforwardness for others. Certainly there are some of you that are clearly in one camp or the other- can any of us imagine Marilyn one day saying she prefers Jamie? Or Sallie or Shannon deciding Casey is the man for either of them? No, I don't think so. :) Carla too is quite obviously there on Casey's plot.

Nalana, I see you ultimately on Casey's side of the fence. Tracy- definitely Jamie. That slippery Elaine could show up in either place. :) Denise- Jamie, obviously.

To be honest, as much as I know him, and he has revealed a whole LOT more of himself in 'Angels' I still think Jamie is the sort that, in real life, would leave me tongue-tied and without a word to say. Casey, on the other hand, well I'd pretend I smoked so I could go chat with him. Casey has turned into the steady, family man, who values his family and wife above all else. But he always did, even if he wasn't entirely aware of it. Doesn't mean that his country isn't still high on the list, but his priorities have certainly changed, not something I really saw happening, but when the boy fell in love, he fell hard and forever. That's his nature. His daddy saw that in him long before Casey came to realize it though.

Jamie too loves very deeply and he certainly knows how to keep the women happy. He does have the ability to move on though, whereas Casey is very much a one woman man. Russia strips Jamie down to his essentials, and I think that's what allowed me to really get to know him better with this book. Hopefully I don't sound schizophrenic, but the characters are people that I slowly get to know better, and Jamie has always been pretty sparing with what he gives out.

Myself, I think I would be pretty happy to spend an afternoon in Pat Riordan's company.
