I had a feeling there was a bit of a kindred spirit between the two after the scene in the Jamie's library. I am betting each see's a bit of themselves in the other even with the different socio-economic backgrounds. I think that's what I assumed upon my first reading and just wanted to make sure I had seen things correctly. - I didn't realize before that Pat and Jamie had such a relationship or at least the connection between them. One thing in common is that Pamela didn't choose either one but is very close with them both.
