• 85.1- I have no problem being alone, maybe it comes from growing up an only child, but I've always been happy in my own company. Lonely is different, you can be lonely in a crowd, or in a bad marriage and I think that's much worse than being alone. 85.2- Because he wasn't ready, it would have been a mistake to stay, he's giving in to a moment of just needing to be near her here, they're both still grieving terribly over two deaths and the state of their marriage. 85.3- he asked her for no words, and so she didn't speak any, it was really the best thing she could do, Casey isn't ready to listen at this point and it would only have made matters worse. • 82.1- I hope you ladies will forgive me for indulging in answering the questions about my own work this morning before anyone else gets a chance but it's a good distraction today. I had an awful morning as a mother and feel like I took a wrong turn somewhere on the parenting track..it'll pass, but I feel miserable about it this morning. So here goes- 82.1- The 'Requiem' is for all of them. Things have changed irrevocably for them all, there is no going back for many of the things they've done/had done to them/the people they've lost. Things are changed forever and so the 'Requiem' is for the life that is lost. 82.2- I don't think Casey felt he had a choice, it was either do this or see his brother die next.     • Thanks my friends. It's an issue that we've been struggling with for eight years with one of our girls. This morning something was brought to my attention and I hit the ceiling. It was lucky she was gone to school already, because I haven't been this mad in a bit. But then you're sitting down later, thinking things over and it just feels like you did something wrong as a mom, you know, even if you can't figure out what the hell it was.       • I don't know what the problem is, but my kids, esp. DS2 got himself into trouble in a variety of ways. He's working now, becoming quite reasonable and is the more loving of the two. They go through stages, each child is different, and usually they have to learn from their own mistakes. Forget trying to impart wisdom, it doesn't work, they have to sort it all out for themselves. • 84.2) I'm not sure just why, but I like David very much, I think he adds something - don't ask me exactly what - to the story. Maybe because he represents the positive aspects of the other side? He is honorable and caring. Those are qualities the other main characters have, also. Even when one of them resorts to violence; it is never a random act, or without sound reason.   • Somehow, reading your post, it struck me how alone the main characters are. They walk a knife's edge that makes it very difficult to have close friends, because who can they trust? • 85. 1 I'm better at being alone now than when I was younger. I still dont like to be alone for a long time but I also dont need to be surrounded by many people, maybe somewhere between 1 and 5 is fine. Lonely, heartbreaking and almost did me in once so I cant go there again. 2. I struggled with this and couldnt come up with an answer on either read except to think that perhaps one night was a temporary reprieve and just a moment in time that allowed him to be with Pamela the way they used to be but to stay longer wouldn't be right because nothing had been resolved.
