• 1. Did Casey deserve this? You bet! He needed the wake up call. Casey knows that the love is still strong between himself and Pamela but Jamie provided the extra incentive to admit it to himself. Jamie could never lead the life with Pamela that he descibes to Casey. He knows that Pamela could never forget Casey, even with his love, so Jamie's words are only a threat which seem to work on Casey. • 3. Much as I would love to see Pamela with Jamie, it would never work. Casey is her true love, and they need to be with one another. It hardly seems fair to consider that Casey must forgive Pamela for something that she really had no choice about. His life was worth the infidelity, Pamela saw no other choice and Casey must accept this, forgive her and most importantly forgive himself for putting her in this position, then they need to move on with their lives - together. Considering the more benign meaning of covet, maybe the title refers to the wish for a reconciliation between Casey and Pamela, and for Jamie to let go and find his own happiness. • 1a. What you're looking at here is pissed off, Jamie. Granted everything he does is calculated to send Casey back to Pamela, but he's good and mad at Casey at this point. This is exactly what Casey needed, it HAD to be Jamie that would smack him back to reality and that he did still have a life waiting for him. It felt right that it was Jamie that did it and not anyone else. You'll note that Jamie sent Mattie in behind him a few days later to soften and yet reinforce what he said.   • Oh boy he was pissed wasn't he? As soon as I understood what Jamie was trying to do here, I was cheering him on. I didn't feel like he was pissed on his own behalf though more on Pamela's behalf and what he saw as Casey's stupidity. He pulled no punches, a few things he said made an impact on me 'no gray areas', 'You're not the first man to deal with a wife's infedelity' and 'What is it you know about her now that you didn't before?' • I have to share a funny moment. The lady from across the street came by yesterday because she always gives the girls something extra on Halloween- anyway she just read EU a couple of months back and is about 2/3 of the way through 'Mermaid'. She told me that when she sees me out walking or doing yard work, she thinks 'get back in the house and work on that third book!!' Then she said 'stop chatting with me and get in there and write'. • 1a) I don't know if Casey deserved it really, but he definitely needed it. I hated seeing Casey like this and no matter how many people (Jamie, Pat, Matty etc) think he's being stupid..I felt really bad for him. Infedelity is not an easy thing to 'get over' or forgive. If you can admit and accept your own blame or fault in a situation, does it make it easier or harder to forgive? • I kinda missed the last couple of sets of questions but I wanna say here,,,,,,, I was glad Jamie did it,,, Casey needed to straighten up, face the situation and get over it , or move on. Pamela deserved better than to be left haning in limbo, not knowing what was gonna happen,,,,,, Maybe Pamela was wrong for how she handled that and Casey needed time to accept it for sure...... so Jamie just speeded up the process.
