You cannot put any dollar amount on all the GREAT experiences she had her year as a LMNC queen. Yes, you spend a lot of time fundraising for the Masonic Children's home, but you know that going in if you read the paperwork. Six years after my daughter was a queen, Mr & Mrs. Hughes from the Masonic Home, still remember her and I and always take time to speak to us. She made many wonderful friends throughout her travels across the state that year and still keeps in touch with many of them. She still remembers and talks about a visit to Duke University Hospital and visiting with many veteran patients and from that visit she decided to go to college to get her BSN and work with veterans. She did not win her LMNC title on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th try. It took her 5th try to win. The very short year she was a state queen was worth all the years it took for her to finally win.
