Subject: Scottish National Oireachtas - Important Information


Dear Teacher.

There will be a Teacher's Reception on Thursday night 7.30pm-9.30pm in the Motherwell Civic Centre.

The venue have a policy of no cases, including dress bags in the dancing areas. There will be a manned designated storage area where these items can be dropped. Please inform your dancers and parents. There will be a Teachers hospitality room situated at the back entrance on the ground floor beside the practice area.

We have secured a taxi company for the weekend. Taxis from the airport can be very expensive as Motherwell is 10 miles from Glasgow. Taxis should be booked in advance to avail of these prices. Numbers are 01698813777 or 01698749009. Also they can do pickups from the train to hotels and hotels to dancing venue. Prices from Glasgow Airport- 4 seater £40, 6 seater £44 and 7/8 seater £65. From Edinburgh a 4 seater is £40, 6 seater £44 and 7/8 seater £65.

Doors open at 7am each day. Admission is £10 per adult £5 con session. Children up to the age of 15 will have free admission only when accompanied by an adult. If adults are coming in for the 3 days they will gain entrance on the third day for £5. This can only happen if the wristbands for the 2 previous days are still on. Programme will cost £10. Marks will be £5 for open Championship and £3 for preliminary championships.

I wish you all a trouble free journey and the best of luck to your dancers. Please make sure your dancers are side stage in plenty of time to dance and listen to the stage stewards. There will be a strict no alcohol policy in the dancing areas. Any other questions you may have please do not hesitate to ask.
