Actually I am not quite sure of the origin of the word "Stick Car". While there is a possibility that the root word "stick car" came from an ancient society known for racing their chariots that were made from long branches of a hemiwood tree that was very light weight and resistant to the foes arrows in battle, it is more widely held that the word "Stick Car Racer" was adopted for use in modern times when an un-named spectator on this site used the word "stick car" in describing an open wheeled dragster with a long frame. The use of the descriptive term seemed fitting to me, so I adopted the name.
Thanks for the question.
