How about paying a little more for low et and making it like a quick 8 so they have to run against each other. Most fans want to see the faster cars going for low et race each other instead of single runs. The brackets are fine but why not make the low et a little better to bring out more of the faster cars? It would only take 3 rounds to run a quick 8 bracket.

That would not be a problem, we tried this last time to run a quick 8, and racers were not interested..Also some of the faster cars like running by themselves. At the Hill we are always game to try something new!

If we were to run a quick 8 you would have to advertise it ahead of time otherwise there wouldn't be 8 cars that could get in. Most nights there are only a few cars going for low et. If people knew there was going to be a quick 8 before the night of it maybe some of the people that are out of town and usually don't come would. I for one would like to get in an index or quick 8 type race before I would get into brackets. The only index race I heard about was a 5.80 index which I didn't hear about untill the night it happened(that doesn't mean it wasn't advertised)and if I remember correctly it was a $50 entry fee. No one was interested because there is only a few cars that run in the 5's. Most of the cars at PH that run in the brackets are mid 6 to mid 7 second cars. The fact remains that PH has tried a couple times to run something different and no one stepped up so next time they do, we need to make a showing so we can do it again.

Well said Barry. I believe that single "low"runs keep spectaters at the track longer and are safer to run.I for one would not like to have, say Barry, in the next lane if I drove a rail car.Barry is an excellant driver but down track anything can happen.Just my 02.

Hey Karen, I for one am not in favor of requiring those racers who are going for a track record or even if just for low ET of the night to run side by side of another racer. I was at PH a few weeks ago, still trying to find the right tune-up for my ride and on the second pass I ran into a "puddle" of someone's automatic transmission fluid and the back tires slid so bad that by the time I regained control of my dragster, I was in the opposite lane. Back at the pits, I found red tranny fluid covering the right side of my motor. Looked like it, smelled like it. (My ride does not have red tyranny fluid in it.) Thankfully, there was no other racer in that lane (it was a solo run). Some spectators like to see a "good wreck" but I have already been there and done that and set two track records at the same time, right side up and upside down but I do not want to go there ever again. Let's let those racers who choose to run their rides on that ragged edge to set new records have the choice to run solo. Lives are at risk.

that is why we suggested a little tech before, even if it is a outlaw track just some track personal to look over the racers rides for leaks of any kind bat hold down ,over flows on radiators, fuel leaks , tranny leaks all lug nuts seat belt ,helment , i know all vehicles have leaks so tech should make the call each vehicle before they even race for the night just another suggestion SOME RACERS MISS LEAKS ALSO.
