Subject: Need help with evening gown selections. Do you think the Mrs. pageants appreciate the more trendy styles or the more elegant. Should Mrs. be more conservative in the style. In other words, be careful the slit is not too high and not too much clevage is showing.

Different systems seem to lean different ways. International is more sexy, trendy, etc... where America is more conservative. I think first and foremost you must select a style and color that compliment you and then always keep in mind you can add/remove a slit, add stones, etc... The gown is a very important factor but more than that you must be comfortable in wearing it. If you are purchasing a gown just to fit a style but that style is not yours it will show onstage in your presentation. Last year it was required and 1K. You also need 50 state gifts, 1 mayor gift. 1 hotel mgr gift. Clothes, Clothes and lots of clothes Misc money for the resort and tipping of staff. If you asked everyone to give a buck or two you could cover the $1k or at a portion of it, depending on the size of your state contest. Last night the area was hit by very severe storms which in some places included grapefruit and tennis ball sized-hail, 80 mph winds and tornadoes. There was lots of damage in the northern part of the DFW area. There were more storms this morning and more are expected today. So I hope the ladies and their families are doing well. BTW, anyone attending Saturday's pageant, the weather is expected to be suuny with a high of 101 and a heat index of 105, so dress appropriately. It'll be a great pageant, as always!!! Know why you have what it takes to win, but have the perspective to know that it's just a pageant and you have a life beyond the pageant. Well, a queen finally stood up to Sheree and Sheree could not take it. Why do you think hardly any former queens come back ever in Wyoming? Its because they hated their year. Michelle did not get divorced, she made her 50 appearances and spent way too much of her own money traveling the state with those appearances. She got screwed. Did they not work their platform enough in XYZ system enough that they feel as though trying to win another would be justified? Pageantry is not life or death. Personally, for myself it is a way of challenging myself and pulling me out of my comfort zone. Additionally, it allows me to continue to work my platform in ways that I could not do without a title. there is nothing wrong with going from one system to another, as each system has something different to offer. However, I do feel that it is better if you wait at least a year before competing in another system if you have won a title, as it becomes confusing to the general public. I love competing regardless of whether i win. I've made some wonderful friends over the years that I never would have met if I wouldn't have competed.
