Subject: Mrs. Pakistan last year (or maybe the year before) lived in San Francisco, but was born in Pakistan. I remember hearing that Maria Torres had been asked to represent Puerto Rico, and there was someone else (Yolanda Makle?) that had been asked as well. I think if you have ties to a country that you can ask to represent it, whether or not you are living there. Subject Author Date Also remember residency is not the only criteria. Some ladies have citizenship to other countries while living in the US. If you were born elsewhere you would have to apply to become American by the naturalization process. Most systems will allow you to participate by citizenship because it is the equivalence to residency. For instance an American military person is still American while living in Iraq so they could do Mrs. America or elect to go as Mrs. Iraq.
