BUT I do think it helps a lady even if it is on a subconcious level. Especially when the branding is as concentrated on family as Mrs. America is. All other things being equal, you won't convince me that a woman who balances a demanding career with being a wife and a Mother won't have a leg up on someone who is just a wife. I'm not saying a lady who isn't a Mom has no shot at all. I just think it helps when things are close.
