Subject: I'm the OP here. I do get that some young wives can have a lot of life experience. But I'm used to dealing with companies and organizations that have a "mission statement". I can't seem to find that for Mrs. America. To me that's what drives the choice of representative. And I am going to disagree that person who could still be competing in Miss USA or Miss America is in the same position as someone in their 30's, 40's or 50's. So what I'm looking for is a "mission statement". Maybe Mrs. America doesn't have this?

In reply to: Subjective 's message, "A woman is a woman wether she is 20 or 60 so to assume that a young wife can't meet the needs of this program is bias. There have been a wide range of ages for Miss America and if you consider the score sheet you will understand why the judges choose whomever based on the scoring system not necessarily the attributes you suggest. To be a state delegate or Miss America is about what you bring to the program not what you are handed. You sound like someone that would be an excellent representative and should give it a go." on 11:40:11 07/14/10 Wed
