Subject: I do not feel that age should be the primary factor or that you should have to be 26 before you can compete in the married system. There are 30,40 and 50 year olds out there that have been married for only a few years. I think it depends on the person and their life experiences. Age is a number, one that we all get caught up in way too often. I have an idea, lets take the age and Birthday off the application. Then no one knows how old you are and you can be seen for the married woman that you are.I find it hurtful when people say that I can not represent married womenI b/c I am not 30

Author:
or b/c I don't have children. Neither my age nor number of children make me less of a woman or less of a married woman. Yes, I already represented my state at Mrs America, so obviously my state judges thought I possesed the qualities of representing married women, not just a certain age.

In reply to: Mrs. 's message, "To all the directors out there and to those who've been around this system for a while (meaning more than 5 years), what does this system look for in it's winners? Taking a look at the states themselves there's a wide range of winners from young (24) to older (44) that's a 20 year age span. Click in for a bit more." on 05:34:40 07/14/10 Wed

[> Subject: I was married at 18 so I could have competed a long time ago but I guess more than age I feel the years married should matter more than the age. Bash away but is this about being a Mrs. Who happens to be accomplished and beautiful or someone who is beautiful and just happens to be married?
