I've started working on my own family history reciently and I'm amazed to see all the Beachnau names you've uncovered in your research. It's extremely impressive and you should be proud of the work you've done. Thanks.

Nice to see a family related website like your website. I am a decendent of William Hickok of Farmington, Connecticut. Our name changed around the late 1700s to the early 1800s. It was changed from Hickok to Hickox, then about the 1850s it was changed to Hickcox.

Hello all;
If you are looking here for answers, you came to the wrong place, cause all I have is questions!
I have a lot of Hickok Genealogy, but with lots of missing dates/events. Anything anyone has I would be happy to get to piece together the Hickok family line.
There is abook on Hickok Genealogy, there are family trees all 0over, but none are complete with birth/maarriage/death/children data.
My Hickok line goes like this:
Victor Scott Hickok
Noel Elmer Hickok & Flossie Ella Scott
Victor L. Hickok & Maude Ruby Donaldson
Myron George Hickok & Isabelle E. Holmes
These I have documents that prove them, except for the deaths of Myron and Isabelle.(1881-1900)

So help me if you can?

Thanks
Victor Hickok

Great site, My understanding is my Heacock family branch
comes off from Wild Bill's parents. I'm not sure who changed the spelling of the name to Heacock. I live in Michigan. Is there a way to view your tree in generation format?

Thanks for putting this info together. I'm stuck on my husband 3 great-grandfather, David W. Hickok. born in Butternut, NY in 1812, but can't find out who his parents were to continue back.

Interested in information on Salaman H. and Franklin H. Hickok with the 44th New York on Little Round Top July 2, 1863. I am 5th generation of what seems to be the lost Hickok line of Union County, Ohio. Allen Hickok and Sarah (Sharp)
William Hickok and Della (Shryer) George Hickok and Allie (Cary) William (Jack) Hickok and Zeta (Sherwood) and myself, William Hickok.

Great work. I am a sixth cousin, four times removed of James Butler Hickok. I branch from William Hickock of Farmington at his son Samuel - My 5th great-grandfather Asher Hickcox (1756-1832)served in the Revolutionary War in the Connecticut line, and moved to Lanesboro, just north of Pittsfield, MA after the war. He and Aaron, great grandfather of Wild Bill, only lived a few miles a part during this period. My branch of the family spelled the name several different ways (Hickcox, Hecox, Hickok) but settled on Hickcox by the early 1800s. A good, but not infallible resource for early Hickok genealogy is Charles Nelson Hickok's 1938 genealogy of the family, published by The Tuttle Publishing Company of Rutland, VT. He seems to be the original source of the Oliver Otis Hickok name, versus the more accurate Oliver C. Hickok.
