Good post on the game- I'd add one more thought- Dixon seems to be a "streaky" QB. when he's on, he's on fire (2nd half of the Bucknell game and the 2nd quarter last night). The rest of the time, he looked lost. The interception on the screen was BAD. Hopfully he grows out of it.

According to the NEC Coach's Poll and their play last year they are. They are playing a tough ooc schedule and beat Hoftra and played UMASS close from the CAA.

Ted- Agreed, and I can guarantee you no other team will not have safeties deep with 08 seconds in the first half. St.Francis was a very poorly coached team. The real test will be this week.

You're right about the interception Ted. It was a very poor decision and should have been thrown away. I know he was running for his life but with his arm strength, could have tossed it into the bleachers. I'll give Connor a pass on being a little streaky, considering this was only his second start in 3 years.
I was a little more concerned about the time it took to get the play into Dixon. He seemed to be standing and looking at the coaching staff, waiting for the decision. I hope that this is also a sign of early season maturing on the coaches part. We will have to be sharp against Dayton.

Nine touchdowns in 2 games is a pretty good start- especially for not having played for three years. I think once the team as a whole gels and the coaching staff is a little quicker getting the plays in to the field, Dixon will be more confident and will lead the team to many wins. Some wins may be more spectacular than others but he certainly has a record of success.

I'm not complaining about Dixon. Anybody who can beat out Kevin after the year he had lanst year and toss 9 TD's in his first two games is going places. I just think he has run hot and cold and I hope once he feels comfortble he stays on "hot".

I am not sure anybody beat out Kevin. IMO Kevin go caught up in a no-win situation. I am not in the know but dont think for a minute that the marketing/Kid comes home to Pittsburgh from bigtime wasnt being sent to the local kids. In no way am I bashing the kids talent but anybody who thought the Dixon kid wasnt going to start from day 1 is mistaken. The question is does Rombach come back for his last year of elgibility? I personally like a two quarterback system and I see no reason as to why Kevin wouldnt get a few series when it counts.

I for one hope that they play up the "kid comes home" angle and that Dixon can help recruit some of these tweeners that, in the past, would opt for Dayton, Delaware and Albany.
The WPIAL is still a hotbed for college recruiters. Just look at the number of kids playing ball somewhere else. Take for instance the team we play this week. Dayton has SEVEN WPIAL kids on their roster. Albany has three and the list goes on and on. If we can keep these kids at home, maybe the administration would give us that 5000 seat stadium.

It is obvious that the staff is hanging their hat on "the kid comes home routine". But I believe they should give Rombach some reps. It is tough enough to go through the season healthy at the QB position espescially when you just had shoulder surgery. When you have the preseason QB pick in your league he SHOULD get a few reps IMO. Again nothing against Dixon but you dont want to be left empty handed. It has got to be very hard for KR. It almost happened against Bucknell.
