Does anybody have an idea of what the new seating capacity will be at Rooney? I know they talked of adding seating on the visitor's side as well, but I've not seen drawings on that side. From what the home side drawings show, it look like there will be 9 rows, from the twenty to the twenty with a gap at the 50 for the existing press box. (See Renovation Plan Link above)

Seating looks like it is split into 6 sections of equal size. 9 rows to a section and about 20 seats to a row. So quick Math calculation, 9 x 20 = 180 x 6 = 1080 approx give or take a few. Plus you have the season ticket seats in front of the press box, looks like about 60. So I'd say about 1,100 seats which is about the same as the old stadium bleachers. I think the capacity of 4,500 has always been a bit generous and the person who counted the attendances at games has always been questionable in my mind.

How does the saying go- "If you build it, they will come?". It sounds like the Athletic Department is building for small time, small committment and small vision. We don't need a new Beaver Stadium, but a field that looks more like a middle school field isn't going to attract crowds or recruits. Its nice to have bathrooms and a concession stand finally but there is no way that this plan feels like "college football". It wouldn't take much more to add a few more row where the picnic tables are drawn in and to go from end zone to end zone as prior posters observed.
