I kind of liked the Steel City Trophy "For All the Marbles". What ever happened to that idea?

The first time I went to the Duquesne administration, they took the idea of a "Layden Trophy" to RMU and they shot it down as being a "Duquesne" trophy since it honored a Duquesne coach.

Then we got a committee together and suggested changing the name to The Coaching Legends Trophy to Honor 4 local coaching legends going back continuously from the present in an unbroken line to the very beginnings of college football- Walton, Klausing, Layden, and Warner. That is one hell of a football coaching tradition with 3 College Hall of Fame Coaches who coached here.

We were to approach RMU to see if this would be more acceptable than a trophy only honoring Layden. You'd think that they'd be glad to honor Walton in with the other three.

No movement since a meeting at the Red Ring over the winter. The trophy sits in my basement.

How about "The Parkway War", "War on the Parkway" "Battle for the Burgh" or "Steel City Showdown"?
