Always a Duke

Even though the Dukes' football season has just come to a very successful conclusion, it's not too early to possibly make some travel plans for the Dukes' first game next season. The Dukes will play at Old Dominion in Norfolk, Virginia, on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012. (Click here for info on Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium.)

A newcomer to CAA football this season, currently 10th-ranked (TSN Poll) Old Dominion, 9-2, received one of the 10 at-large bids to the FCS playoffs, which will begin next Saturday. Altough no kick off time has been set for next year's opener yet, I note that the first 3 home games for Old Dominion during this season began at 6 PM. This game will be on Labor Day Weekend so maybe you can head to the shore for a little vacation following the game. Note that Norfolk is a 400 mile drive from the Burgh.

As I reported several weeks ago, rounding out the Dukes' other non-conference opponents will be Dayton on September 8 (H) and Valpraiso on September 15 (A).
