Albany pulls one of the stupidest plays I've seen in quite some time (on ESPN3) with the ball on Stoney Brook's 2 yd. line, second down (I believe) and goal, and less than a minute in the game, trailing 31-28. Instead of running the ball as they had been somewhat successful in their last drive, the Albany QB throws deep in the end zone to a receiver who was very well covered rather than throwing the ball clearly out of bounds. The Stoney Brook defender breaks up the pass and does a masterful job of of catching the ball with his feet within inches of the the end zone back line before he fell out of bounds. Stoney Brook was rightly awarded the interception and then ran out the clock with a 3 point win. What an ill-conceived and/or poorly executed play to end the game!

I'm not sure the Dukes would have beaten Stoney Brook had they been the NEC representative in the FCS playoffs, but I don't think they would have let the game slip threw their fingers as did Albany.

Albany winning would have been a big step. Too bad
