They kept the narrative you quoted, but they did add the Washington and Jefferson game that I sent them to the 1893 schedule. I also sent them the entire schedule and results from 1894 but that has yet to be included.
If you notice, none of the scores prior to 1902 are included in the opponents record section or overall record. If I were a visiting media person, I'd be more impressed with the program if I see some citations listing series going back to the 19th Century. The games I sent in would also increase the Dukes total wins recorded and their historical winning percentage.
I have a feeling that the media guide records section is a yearly publication that had been written years ago and rarely updated. No individual or team statistic goes back further than 1980 yet Duquesne won a game against Ashland by almost 100 points. There had to be a few individual game records set in that one. I'm not about to try to find individual stats from that far back. Some of those records may have been held by the Chief, Art Rooney who was quite a QB and place kicker.
