Brilliant question, Alfred, and one that is probably at the heart of this site. However, I agree with Mike, it is not so much about history as validity, or perhaps honesty. Thank you for your compliments regarding my input.
I can only speak for myself, so I will limit my comments to that. I am who I say I am and most of what I say is true. In my case I restrict mainly to commenting on others' stories, having very limited spanking experiences myself outside the purely consensual. I admit to being a spankophile, as I am sure most of us here are, and I can assure you that I WANT all the lurid descriptions here to be true, and the tellers of them totally genuine. However, I am not naive enough to believe that all of them are. Real life has always fascinated me, but that does not mean I agree with everything I read, hence my habit, annoying to some, of often putting an alternative view.
Some of the others you mention, in particular Gigi and Grandma Jo, are almost too good to BE true. Often the quality of the writing is a giveaway that they are genuine, but of course they may just be excellent writers. Those who write with bad grammar, punctuation and word usage are more likely to be frauds. I am a very trusting person and will always give someone the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. but I will question motives, hence you will see later my comments to GJ. One of the others you mention is definitely genuine, but I certainly won't disclose which, it's none of your business lol! Gigi is an absolute enigma, if she is genuine then I am insanely jealous, as that has the kind of life I have yearned for over many years.
The idea of being controlled by GerPo is definitely an interesting one. To be honest, reading her posts, I'm not sure whether she would prefer to control or be controlled. Perhaps she could comment.
I always try to come across as someone who is honest and believable. Only you can decide if I succeed.
