Some sort of "immersion" might be very enjoyable and help you really get into the role, even if you're only doing a relatively short "scene." Of course, the longer you spend walking around in the skin of your character, living her life, the more satisfying will be the outcome.

Hereabouts, there's a 50s themed restaurant where everyone congregates on Friday nights, dressed in authentic clothing and driving 50s era cars. That's a great way to start off an immersion/role play, going out in public as a "family," dressed and acting as your characters, getting used to the feel of things. Back home afterward, ready for bed and gathering around the radio (TV was very limited and not at all central entertainment until the later 50s, when there was enough programming to fill more than a few hours), families talked and kids knew where they stood - and that they were still kids.

If you think about it, Gigi, you'll realize a longer buildup to the "big moment" will yield more than will a quick, "git 'er spanked" scene, especially in terms of the afterglow when you have to obediently carry on, knowing all too well you're subject to yet another reminder if you haven't learned your lesson.

Still, there are lots of scenarios you could act out and, as I said, it'll take time and forethought to get things just right. Go for it.
