 If you thought I was confused before......
That little has been putting us all to the test the last few days. I decided to try a different tact. During a bit of a tantrum and the final straw I told her she was grounded for a week. She looked shocked and said "What?!" In the house, directly home from school, no computer, no t.v., no gaming devices. "That's not fair!!" one of her favorite phrases. She stomped and shouted, I made it two weeks. She stomped off shouting and slammed her door and I told her it would be four weeks. Her big sister who had witnessed the whole thing said point blank "She needs a spanking." I was in complete agreement and mulled it over for a while finally deciding this experiment had failed.
I went into her room finding her stewing face down on the bed. I told her to sit up. She did with her arms folded and pursed lips. To be quite honest I almost fell out in laughter. "It's not fair mom." After a little talk about her behavior with "It's not fair" thrown in a few times I calmly asked her if she would prefer to get it over with with a spanking. I was thinking I would get the "I'm too old for that. I'm too sophisticated. I'm too smart. I'm too precocious for that" response. Instead she looked at me with those piercing blue/green eyes, looked down and shook her head up and down. "Alright then, I'll get my hairbrush."
Normally I give the girls a hand spanking, but this time I started with the hairbrush flat on her bottom. That really shocked her "Mom your hand!" I told her that she chose this and I intended to make an impression.
So we're exactly where we were a little over a year ago when I started on this forum. We have gone full circle and I am still confused. Why would she prefer to be spanked? It almost seems that the days preceding that she was trying to get spanked. I know she doesn't like being spanked and I'm 100% certain that she doesn't have motives that were suggested about a year ago. Does anyone have any ideas?
