 The younger one, usually the quieter of the 2, decided to test her oats and see how far she could get with a bad mouth. She was in her room carrying on and making nasty about her homework and a teacher that she said was a pain in the ???. When I heard that I went into the room and called her on it. She looked at me and asked what did I do? I said her language was not what I want to hear in the house. I told her that if it happened again she could expect to be punished. She quited down. Later when she was setting the table for supper she was loudly placing things on the table and I finally had enough and announced she was getting spanked. She looked at me with big eyes like she couldn't believe what I had just said. I took her to the den for a firmly applied hairbrush. She sat uncomfortably for supper and for the next day as well.
