Nothing to be embarrassed by, Brieanne. Those so-called joke paddles sting like the dickens. Anyone reading this board would be bawling and howling too.

The only joke thing about souvenir Boards of Education was the bad pun decal. I was always mildly amused that the spanking side was always bare cedar or other wood. All paddles can break so your mom was smart to buy spares. Wood dries out and splits along the grain from even a mild spank. Don't feel abused because she broke a paddle or two on you and your sister. Even fraternity paddles break once they dry out.
