It's an almost unanswerable conundrum, Ms C. At the end of the day, you and I can only truthfully comment on what we get out of such a relationship, but merely surmise what the mentees' reasons are.
Firstly it may depend on how the two are brought together. I would think that people initially meeting via sites like these would put the spanking aspect first, and the mentoring second. I am sure there are ways of finding genuine mentors who have a merely altruistic reason for wanting to help girls (or why not boys?) who need some structure with their lives.
Surely there can be little doubt that there is some sexual gratification in such a relationship for both parties. Shu admitted that, whilst she hated getting spanked by her mother, she often had to "relieve" herself afterwards. But she never resented those spankings, she felt they were deserved. Conversely, I suggested to her that her mother also got something out of it, and she didn't totally disagree. And, when she overheard her younger brother getting it, she couldn't help but play with herself. She could also get turned on by reading my descriptions of how I would "punish" her for things she admitted to me.
In your case, Confused, look at yourself first. You have indicated many times that you get no pleasure from corporally punishing your daughters, but you do it because they deserve it. Can you honestly say the same about your mentees. I doubt it. Like me, you enjoy spanking as an activity with other adults, but having a sort of real reason to indulge gives that extra edge. Also, if you can offer genuine advice as well which actually helps them, that is a bonus.
Those ladies you have spanked undoubtedly enjoy it as well as benefit from it. They don't HAVE to take it, but CHOOSE to. There must be some sexual pleasure at the end of it. Anyone who has ever been spanked, certainly as an adult, will appreciate the "afterglow", that feeling of sexual satisfaction when the initial pain subsides and the warmth takes over. Who knows what they do to themselves once you have left. Maybe you should stay and "help" them, then you would know for certain!
So, don't be confused, just go with the flow and enjoy. I have mentioned before that the first time I met a lady for a spanking session, I asked her afterwards if we were odd to be doing this. She replied "of course not, it's the others who are odd, they don't know what they're missing!"
