I think when women are spanking the same kids as men, they try to avoid the wimp image. They spank more firmly just to make sure that the kids do not try to walk all over them just because they are women.

There was a coeducational organization near where I worked and the pledge-mistress/master changed from time to time. Whenever it was a young woman, the new guy pledges were scared. They knew that she would be out to prove how firm she could spank! I don't know if the women pledges were as scared as the guys.
