I think on forums like this, since to my understanding it is suppose to be a "true" account of memories, situations or whatnot. Then what is shared should be true, and as accurate as possible. There are so many places one can go and share fiction if that is what they wish to share.
Historical accuracy was very much missing in the "Hatfield and McCoy" 3 day mini-series for instance but beyond that, there were truth so at times perhaps accuracy isn't important but when it comes to honesty, being as accurate as possible to be honest is important, if someone's goal is to stride and share the memories as how they happened anyway.
If someone's goal is to write some "good" fiction they should let everyone know in advance, or write it on board plainly labeled as fiction IMHO.
I really can't explain my take on this. I feel if something isn't truthful it shouldn't be stated as truth but at the same time a few blurred details if that is how memory serves them is fine blant dishonesty isn't.
