I'm not up to speed on everything going on in this thread (seems to have a history that's lost in the mists of the archive) so I won't get too involved.
But I wanted to say that my relationship with my parents took a while to get to the point it is. I mean, when spankings started to become common place, I went through the same reactions you did, bitching and moaning about them not being fair and getting the same sort of response. Eventually, Ella, you'll learn that your mother knows best, it'll just take a few more red bottoms to get the message across.
I *still* slip up sometimes even now, but I know that whenever I do and get my punishment that, ultimately, I probably deserved it. But this is a realisation that took quite a while to sink in, and it was only then that the bond you are envious of started to fully form. You'll get there :)
