 Hey Susan, I don't read this forum all that often anymore so I missed your question, sorry about that.

Things are going reasonably well now, I consider the situation to be less than ideal but it does seem that she is responsive to corporal punishment where she isn't to more modern parenting techniques.

Her relationship with her mother still isn't great, but that's normal even without the other issues.
