I probably wouldn't have agreed a month ago, but having gone through something similar recently, not because of grades but for my total irresponsibility after graduating, my perspective is a little different. It certainly opens your eyes to your own behavior and lack of gratitude one may show their parents.
I don't think you are a bad mom. I think all kids are different no matter how well a parent tries to raise them. I think Jeremy calling you a bad mom was really ignorant and uncalled for. Maybe if she had gotten her butt beat when she was younger you wouldn't have to deal with it now. Who knows. I'm sure if I knew I was going to get my butt beat I wouldn't have acted in the irresponsible manner I did.
