This is beautiful and very well written. Frankly I almost cried reading the whole story.
I am not an advocate of spanking children. I am frankly sickened at the idea of 'the naughty step' or 'naughty chair'. I do definitely believe in reasoning, even with a small child. Little children can be reasoned with a lot more than adults can. This I know from experience.
I'm not sure, but I believe I lean in favor of corporal punishment for older teens and adults. My fetish may also cloud my reasoning on that. I was part of a discussion of this nature on another site.
In one way I feel it is far more humane and more effective to give someone a good paddling for driving while texting or on the cell. Careless, reckless activity or petty theft. I just can not understand the humanity or effectiveness of locking someone up with hardened criminals for stealing a bit of cash out of a convenient store register, or selling XTC.
I've gone off the beaten path (pun intended). I feel your pain Betrayed Mom. Of course you want to save your little girl. If putting her through the momentary humiliation and pain of a 'butt blistering' is the last resort that keeps you and your family from going financially and emotionally down the toilet and saves your little girl from a hard, lonely and dangerous life, you have my blessings.
I can tell from what and the way you wrote that you truly love your child and want to do the best for her, that you are not bullshitting, making excuses for being a lazy parent as had been suggested by someone on here who might have also benefited from an ass whipping.
