Subject: I was just thinking about this recently, because it often happens that I love the final walk of someone I wasn't crazy about until then. I think one reason is that many titleholders gain a few pounds during their reign and end up looking better. Anyway, one final walk that immediately comes to mind is Riyo Mori in that "tuxedo." I loved that! If she'd worn that the night she won Miss Universe I would have been on board from the get-go! Another example is Lorraine Downes (Miss Universe 1983). I never felt strongly about her, but her final walk where she channeled Grace Kelly was awesome!

[> Subject: Excellent question. There are three for me. I agree with the earlier comment about Carole Gist (especially considering her lawsuit against the organization over the prizes, but she still looked fantastic). Susmita Sen owned the stage when she gave up her crown in Indian wear. And, I must say that Shauntay Hinton was glowing during her final walk (it was as if she was saying that the year had some obstacles, but I loved every minute of it because I'm Miss USA!).
