Subject: I never got Rea Toutounzi in 1994. I never found her attractive. She's not ugly by any means, but her hair bothered me then. I would've given her placement to Mauritius, Zimbabwe, T&T or even tiny Northern Marianas. Meh, it happened.

[> [> Subject: There was something non-patty about Rea, which I found refreshing and I thought her hair during the finals was Greek goddess like. It was polarizing but it complimented her gown, which also reminded me of a Greek sea goddess/naiad. But the judges definitely agreed with you after prelims because she dropped to 10th place like an anvil after getting the second highest prelim score. Rea also won prelim swimsuit, which came with an award that was presented to her during the coronation ball. I don't think there is another semifinalist who took a nose-dive quite like Rea. Mauritius was stunning that year! I also liked Russia, Australia, Israel, Panama, TnT and Aruba.

Thailand, 6. Switzerland, and of course Charlene Gonzales. India was not a heavy favorite but her win was widely welcomed due to her iconic answer.

[> [> Subject: I always wondered if Rea's downfall was her hairstyle. She wore her hair in a bun during the preliminaries. Rea also seemed nervous on the final night where she came off looking stiff at times. I also thought Mauritius Vivecka Babajee was stunning that year too (RIP) as well as Aruba. I remember the country going crazy gaga over Belgium, which I never understood
