Someone please tell me what was Nicole O'Brien thinking by her outrage at not winning. I watched that pageant and I dont understand why or how she made it to 1st runner up to begin with Even Julie and Ali said she was very Cocky regarding one of her answers to the questions when she said "I made it and you didnt" I found her reaction an embarrassment to the state of texas

Clearly Kristen Johnson should have been 1st runner up I specifically watched Miss USA 2003 ans wanted to see her reaction because I knew she wasnt going to win after she placed top5 Someone must have told her to be an adult

[> Subject: I never understood the hype regarding Nicole; I never thought she was all that beautiful, pretty yes, but beautiful no. I was ALL fof Kristen to win (for Teen & Miss), so when she was called as 2nd RU, I was like please let this win be for PA.

[> Subject: I loved it especially because they did the slow motion replay in the montage at the end. Jillian Parry was such a great winner--the kind who could still make the brand relevant today. Curious how many other "bad" first runner-up reactions there've been since the 90s. Genesis Davila at Miss Puerto Rico is the only one that I can recall off the top of my head, which is amazing given how all these women are human at the end of the day.

[> Subject: I met many Miss Texas USAs at a party once. NOB was the meanest of the lot. Magen Ellis was also not particularly nice. Kandace Kruger and Crystle Stewart, interestingly (because they won Miss USA), were the NICEST! Stephanie Guerrero (Texas 04) was also quite gracious.

[> [> Subject: The ones who won Miss USA probably honed their public relations skills during their year of service. That's probably why they were instinctively (& maybe genuinely) friendly.

[> Subject: So a friend of mine actually competed at Miss USA (won't say her name out of respect) but she did say that Magen Ellis was rude to many of the other contestants and she kept saying she was going to win and that the other girls should just go home at this point. Then when she didn't make it to top 5, she was seen throwing a fit backstage.
