From your state, name the following:

1. Top 5 from your state who could've won Miss USA

2. Top 6/10 from your state who could've won Miss USA

3. Semi-finalist from your state who should've advanced at Miss USA

4. Non-finalist from your state who could've done well at Miss USA

5. A state contestant who never won your state, but could've done well at Miss USA

6. A headscratcher who won your state

I will assume it's the latter. 1. Tamiko Nash (2006); 2. Cassandra Kunze (2014); 3. Mabelynn Capeluj (2013); 4. Natasha Martinez (2015); 5. There are lots of them, but they all went to other states and ended up at Miss USA anyway, LOL. 6. Lots of those, in my opinion. Erica Dann (2019), Nadia Mejia (2016), Natalie Pack (2012).

[> [> [> Subject: Jessica Martin was my first choice. But I had to go with a family friend instead. Layla worked at the same bank with my Aunt. Alejandra, gorgeous, but tremendously stuck up. There was a meet-and-greet with her at Eloy's, a local Mexican restaurant, and she was anything but pleasant. She just exhumed, I'm Texan, and you're not. And facially, Layla was more gorgeous than Jessica.

[> [> Subject: Kim and especially Kelly Hu's eliminations are what really gave Kenya the luck she needed despite her being prelim favorite (although she was in a virtual tie with Kelly). As you mentioned in a previous thread, Kenya was middle of the pack during the final pageant until finally placing 2nd in Top 6 Q&A. I doubt she would have won had Kim and especially Kelly entered the Top 3 instead of Erin and Tavia. Both Kim and Kelly were stronger in their Top 10 Interviews. Such is the randomness of pageants.

[> [> [> Subject: By this time, we were already in the period where Miss USA had to ensure diversity in their winners. Since there had been 2 white winners after Carole Gist in 1991 and 1992, it made sense that the winner of 1993 would be non-white. With the elimination of Kim and Kelly, Kenya was the last one left standing who fit the bill. And Kenya's win is probably why we didn't see Pat Southall bag the crown in 1994 despite being better than Lu.

Rebekah Lynn Decker (2002) & Jaclyn Schultz (2013); 05. Raquel McClendon - ridiculously close each time she competed; 06. Danelle Gay (2006), Elisabeth Crawford (2008), Lindsey Tycholiz (2009), Elizabeth Ivezaj (2014) - all were lovely, but did not seem like best choices at state.
