Subject: Wardrobe difficulties/malfunctions. Things that happen that are no big deal at the time, but you sure remember it years down the road. Just to name a few from the 90ís: Shannon Marketicís earring falling off immediately being named Miss USA. Paula Betancourt (Universe 93) shoe getting caught in her dress when called into the top 3. Angie Carpenterís (Teen USA 94) shoe falling off right before the opening number, Jennifer Makrisí gown getting caught on the staircase.

[> Subject: Long before I understood what "portions of the pageant were pre-recorded" meant, at MISS USA 1986, Halle Berry clearly introduces herself with full, 80's hair coiffed to perfection. Then during the talent introductions, Tommy Tune is presented and right behind him is Halle Berry in a full sparkled head ornament. I always wondered why she decided to put it on AFTER the parade of states. ohio
