Subject: Question regarding NC. The winner just graduated in May from VCU. That means there wasn't enough time to establish residency and she didn't complete a semester of school in NC. How did she qualify? If she didn't live in the state until at least May (4 months) and went to VCU? I'm just honestly curious

[> [> Subject: It does seem like you don't actually have to reside in the state. Go to school in another state but have a friend or someone put your name down on a bill in the state you want to compete in.

[> Subject: Perhaps you should apply for a government grant to perform a study analyzing the migration patterns of pageant contestants... There is a legal precedent: Santa Clara v. Southern Pacific Railroad Company 1886, which might provide some insight...

[> Subject: No one will dethrone her because RPM is probably one of the tightest ships in the country. They seem to come from pageant drama heavy states but I don't think that has ever been attributed to Miles or how her pageant is run. Just a bunch of catty Southern pageant patties. The girl's got her paperwork.

[> Subject: This issue is really such a snooze fest. Every year we hear the endless bitching because of perceived "state hopping." In the end, if you are so upset by it, there is ONE way to change it. Voice your opposition to the residency requirements directly to MUO. But in all honesty, laxed residency restrictions will not change. State directors do not want to police anymore than they already do, and honestly they dont want to turn away entry fees either. And who can blame them?

And the rules clearly state be a resident or be a full time student to complete. But ok I'll call the miss universe office and ask about it. Thanks 🙃
