Subject: Miss USA Gown Choices

It seems like there are still many girls who believe you have to wear a certain designer to do well at Miss USA. But this year we’ve seen a very large number state winners win in other designers. Personally, I think Sherri has lost her touch but it seems like lots of girls get pressured into her gowns. It all seems to be a repeat of something we’ve seen before. Curious as to the boards thoughts on other designers and the “need” to wear Sherri??

[> Subject: Looks like EVERYONE with the exception of a few girls who have committed to Mac Duggal are getting Sherri again this year. I would love to hear from some formers on this but rumor is that between sponsor shops, directors and your contract...girls are literally locked in. I have high hopes for MT as she built a whole site promoting cool, original non-Sherri designers, but my guess is she buckles just like the rest of them. How hard is it to actually do your own thing? My guess is impossible.

[> [> Subject: I love hearing Ashley Graham blab on and on about stunning gowns when they are bland and ho-hum year in and year out. It's the delusion or illusion of it that's entertaining. No one really thinks any of those gowns are red carpet worthy as noted by their absence from them.

[> [> [> Subject: What an absolute bummer! Whoever said this was not political, here is the proof, A girl who literally promotes the best of the best designers in the world is using her opportunity on the world stage to wear a SHERRI HILL, hahahahahaha. Champagne sparkly or colorful silk taffeta, can't wait to see which of these two choices she went with. Maybe it will be completely original and white, HAHAHAHAHA

[> Subject: ITS NOT ABOUT POLITICS! Do you ever think that girls pick the dress they want because they enjoy the designer and the way the dress makes them feel? Not everything is a political statement. Geez.

[> Subject: One of my all time favorite gowns was worn by Miss Tennessee 2001 at USA. That gown looked like it was insired by Halston un the 70's. 17 years later it still remains one of my all time favorites

[> Subject: In Texas you must shop at the main sponsor store. IF you do not, then I have heard , you have to purchase your own gown. Texas doesn’t pay for the entire dress either. Elizabeth Anthony is known for forcing 10G dresses down the contestants throats, and they have to pay the remainder.
