[> [> Subject: Right? Me, too! I'm not sure how reliable tv ratings really are today as a measurement of the actual reach of a broadcast? I'm sure MANY MANY people watched on various feeds and streams that were not measured.

[> [> [> [> Subject: MUO can't beat the NFL. One would think MUO learned their lesson after Miss Universe 2011 was head-to-head with Monday Night Football. I think MUO's ideal schedule whould be Miss USA in April, Miss Universe in July, Miss Teen USA in August.

[> [> Subject: Which is why you have to correlate this with other information - such as the declining state pageant numbers. Also, advertisers pay on TV. How much money did MUO get from any livestreams that evening?

Author:
Granted, this affects more than MUO, but it is still a failing model of business.

[> [> Subject: I will never watch it on tv again. I was highly annoyed that people on here who were streaming it knew all of the results before I did watching it on television. From here on out I will be streaming the pageant over the internet.

[> [> [> Subject: Question: Does anyone have any additional details as to why the preliminary competition was in that much smaller mezzanine level of PH and not the stage? I'm just curious because just a few short months ago, IMG had the resources together to have the Miss USA pageant preliminaries on the main stage at Mandalay Bay. It seems like Miss Universe, a much larger pageant in viewership and participation than Miss USA would certainly have the same treatment?

I wouldn't be surprised if MU disappears in the near future.
