Im not against the rule but I am against manipulating the rule. Not all state directors will be thorough with seeing through the paperwork. If they will allow someone to compete in multiple states in one pageant year, then just do it. Don't make people create paperwork or residences because in the end thats what is going to happen and when one part of the pageants integrgity comes into question, there will be others. Directors need to decide if they want state deligates or contestants at large to represent their pageants. Some will be more careful about who enters and sone will just be in it for the numbers. None of the girls who went to other states have won yet. Hard to answer a question regarding why you want to represent an area or what they like best about their home state when they aren't from there.

[> [> [> Subject: The Utah USA roster has been posted for a while. As far as I can tell, there haven't been any last minute additions. I don't think there are any former California USA contestants on the Utah USA roster. Athenna Crosby was California Teen USA 2016 but according to her Instagram she is a student at Utah Valley University.

[> [> [> Subject: Oh wow okay. Had no idea. What happened to Britt? And knowing (and loving) Shanna, why is there a surprise that there would be state hoppers appearing in Utah? Also, makes sense now that the responses above are referencing Cali lol.

[> Subject: I read a recent interview given by reigning UT USA, Narine Ishhanov and it looks like the changing of directors happened shortly after Narine was crowned and Narine made it seem like she had to prepare pretty much on her own for nationals. I also just learned while browsing some state websites that Delaware has new directors as well, it is no longer with Provost and Miller of D&D Investments (MD, RI, NJ and NY state directors).

[> [> [> Subject: I know, right?! Hopefully no drama, maybe Britt just wanted to direct only 1 state (AZ). Britt took over AZ in 2006 after major drama with the previous director. I don't remember when she took over UT, but she certainly directed some great UT winners.

[> Subject: Miss Utah USA 2019 is gorgeous Amanda Giroux and Miss Utah Teen USA is Kaylyn Slevin! Two blondes. Amanda is from Ohio though and Kaylyn from California but that's the way it goes nowadays.

[> [> Subject: Miss Utah USA 2019 Top 3 were all from other states: Amanda Giroux from Ohio who was a semifinalist at Miss Ohio USA 2017 and is a 2018 graduate of Ohio University, Kate Pekuri was Miss Idaho Teen USA 2016 but she is a student at University of Utah as per her Instagram, Libby Hill was a semifinalist at Miss Texas USA 2019 which was held in September. Nothing in the Instagrams of Amanda and Libby connect them to Utah. Kaylin Slevin was 1st RU at California Teen USA 2018 and semifinalist at California Teen USA 2017; she has an acting/modelling career going so I'm not sure of her connection to Utah.

[> [> [> Subject: In my opinion MUO should make it a requirement that you MUST reside for a lengthy amount of time or go to school in the state you win in. How can you really represent a state if you cannot make appearances in that state? I think this is going to open up a huge can of worms for MUO.

[> [> [> [> Subject: What I think it does is rewards a state title based on money or personal ties. Most girls who compete in MUO don't have unlimited resources to compete over and over again. There have been certain states in the past that were called out on bringing in contestants from other states and creating paper trails. In my opinion, while this might be the new rule, it validates the bad behavior from the past. It turns MUO into a more expensive mail in pageant system. Nobody will take a pageant seriously that a contestant can buy a title in.
