Dani Walker (Miss MT 2018) just posted a video of her experience at Miss Universe in Thailand. It's a fun video. You can see what the venue looked like inside and outside and what was going on during commercial breaks.
A few observations...
- Dani Walker looks great here, and so do the other Miss USA contestants that she is hanging out with, especially Regina Gray (Wisconsin). I wasn't crazy about their styling at Miss USA. It was too over-the-top, but they look fabulous here with the "smaller hair" in this video.
- The video footage from the balcony shows some stuff that was not on TV, like how much Nepal struggled with her gown, especially as she was exiting the stage and Canada was coming toward her with that giant street sweeper.
[> [> [> Subject: right?! sierra was alright till that monstrosity of a mermaid gown that did her no favors; lauren's swimsuit didn't do her body justice and that evening gown was too teen in my opinion. marta, i think, wasn't going to make it past top ten even without the train. too many similar gowns floating down that runway
[> [> [> Subject: I wholeheartedly disagree. Although Sierra’s gown was a monstrosity, Lauren and Marta both gave stunning evening gown performances. Both gowns were stunningly worn by Lauren and Marta. Due to each evening gown performance, I would have advanced each into the Top 5.
[> [> Subject: Yes, I loved the double runaway. It makes a lot of sense because when there is just one long runway (like at MUSA 2018) it's a little awkward to have everyone out there while someone is walking, but the "X" gave the contestants a way to move off to the side.
