[> Subject: This is great numbers & they definitely have some quality contestants too! I donít know a whole lot about the NY girls, but my 5 based on what I do know & these headshots are Gibau, McNulty, McQuade, Reilly, & Siaca.

[> [> Subject: If you go just by headshots - then Briana Siaca should get the crown. In Teen it is not as clear cut - possibly Sydney Tobin for the win in Teen.

[> Subject: Is Alessa on the forum? If so, can you write an overview of how the competition looks like. I recognize only a few girls Gibau, Corbett, Placzek and Siaca.

[> Subject: Anyone else getting deja vu? Maryland had a lackluster competition, considering the amount of applicants, which raise questions in regards to the greed in the industry. I'm seeing a handful of Miss New York USA contestants who'd be competitive at Miss USA. You'd think with 175 (gasp) contestants, there'd be loads more competition. It seems as though every applicant was excepted just for the sake of making as much money as possible. Then again, it's a business.

[> [> Subject: I don't thin this is a weak group based on pics. It is important to differentiate between having few known girls compete and saying it's weak just because we don't know most girls. I still expect a competitive pageant!

[> [> [> Subject: I get your point. I just think the amount of girs competing, we should see more Miss USA worthy girls. With NY (and MD), I honestly do not. With that said, I have a Top 21, so maybe I spoke too early LOL.

[> Subject: Definitely a weak group, too bad Britt Netta is not competing in NY this year but then again, they probably would have passed her over (again). Hoping she competes again in another state.

[> [> Subject: idk, I feel like she hinted she may compete in another state but if itís the state I think I just hope she has some ties to it, or Iíll be sad sheís just crownchasing. I definitely donít mind state hopping, as long as they can prove they have some ties to the state.

[> Subject: I sincerely hope the organization and the judges pick a stunning and accomplished winner for nationals. For some reason, NY crowns head scratchers almost all the time. The winners did not do well at nationals. Just donít understand. Itís like the organization doesnít want to place at nationals let alone win Miss USA!

[> [> Subject: Are you kidding me? Do you actually think that IMG goes by crowning the best contestant at Nationals? Get a clue. Even if Catriona Gray had been representing New York they would not have crowned her. They crown the winners according to their agenda that year. If you can remember one of the first years IMG took over they somehow ended up with 5 blonde Teens in the top 5 and they were ridiculed nationally. After that they made sure that each year it is about DIVERSITY. Miss NY (Florinda) is a stunner and represented NY exceptionally well this year. If a state winner does not do well at nationals, there are a host of things going on that has nothing to do with the contestant but rather the organization.
