Subject: When Miss USA should’ve had a different result!

TOP 2 revised! In some cases top 3 when the top 2 were so bad!

After watching Allie, Miss New Mexico USA’s year in review on her instagram, I realised that everything she did to make her be the best, actually made her be the worst candidate for Miss USA - part of being Miss USA is following your directors directions, MUO has trusted this franchise holder to operate a business using their trademarks, being reliable and following the rules, and following protocol, even if you disagree is non negotiable. While I felt for her, she also sounded like a nightmare to deal with, and going above your directors head and thinking you know everything, even if you have competed at Texas 7 times, doesn’t mean you’re right.

However at the first instance of body shaming and the word anorexia or anorexic, she should’ve drawn the line. That was unacceptable and the director should be replaced.

I realised that over the years I’ve seen a lot of girls lose, and I’ve scratched my head... based on overall impression and long term success and performance at Universe, these are my Top 2 since 94, revisionists dream!

Should’ve won:

At first I started with 93, but I realised I could go even further back to write/right the wrongs of group think, trends, political correctness, etc.

82: Luann Caughey - Texas
83: Julie Hayek - California
84: Kelly Anderson - West Virginia
85: Laura Herring - Texas
86: Halle Berry - Ohio
87: Michelle Royer - Texas
88: Courtney Gibbs - Texas
89: Gretchen Polhemus - Texas
90: Gina Tolleson - South Carolina

94: Pat Southall - Virginia
95: Shanna Moakler - New York
96: Ali Landry - Louisiana
97: Towanna Stone - Tennessee
98: Shauna Gambill - California
99: Angelique Breaux - California
00: Lynnette Cole - Tennessee
01: Liane Angus - DC
02: Lindsay Douglas - Kansas
03: Michelle Annette - Alabama
04: Shandi Finnessey - Missouri
05: Brittany Hogan - California
06: Tamiko Nash - California
07: Rachel Smith - Tennessee

[> [> [> [> Subject: I remember Meemaw disliked her a lot and called her the BEAST. Then, Bamaman and others started calling her names too. And yes, 3rd runner-up is a bit high to be honest but she wasn't anywhere near unattractive. On the contrary... Many people say that 2006 was the weakest year this century. I actually think 2005 is that. It almost looked like Krusten Johnson win by default... if she only tried a bit harder.

[> Subject: I’m actually on Allie’s side of things. If some directors never produce good results, I’d ignore their advice and do the opposite. A good director can train the girls correctly and produce strong winners. USA isn’t as political now about sash factor. Universe well...I wish they’d understand that they have the opportunity to develop interest in other countries if they’d invest in them. I think Malaysia, the Middle East, Africa and the Eurasian countries. If they plant the seed now, the future could help the pageant gain more money.

[> [> Subject: I disagree. These areas have sent some stunners and academics. But the issue is when they get to miss Universe, they loose motivation and look a mess by prelims. Then if they make the cut, they get swallowed by those who are focused. France this year is a good example. Easily was one of the best but finals she looked washed out and stiff.

[> [> [> Subject: The problem is the entire MUO staff is garbage. All they care about is franchise fees and money. The countries that have won (the 3 of them over the past five years) have the highest franchise fees, as hawt has been saying for years, except now its more obvious how pointless and fixed both pageants are. USA is totally about agenda, Teen USA serves no purpose, and Universe is a money grab for the highest paying bidder even if no one wants it and it ends up almost being cancelled or held in Atlanta last minute with no program books! There are state and national directors who would be fired with this level of incompetence... so how Paula, Sean, Tricia, Carlos and Carlos still have jobs after proven years of bad results shocks me. Oh, and they hate the fans!

[> [> [> Subject: I love you but if you really think that you are very naive. It's all about being PC, franchise fees & ratings wherever they can get them. Yes, a non sash, low fees girl from a country that doesn't care or broadcasts MU can still make it from time to time but they never win. Malaysia is actually an example of a country that should have placed 3 or 4 times last decade. On the USA level, thankfully the state sash stopped counting for much in the last 10 years but political correctness at all cost including in terms of race kind of, sort of took over as the most important factor in the pageant well ahead of a performance or look of contestants.

[> [> [> Subject: But the video Allie posted makes her look like the bitch! She talks about her miss USA experience but doesn’t highlight any of her appearances, who her room mate was, how her interview went... all she does is talk about how bad her director is... and that serves no purpose. The director of course is incompetent and unprofessional, and why if they’re the director for New Mexico are they holding a preliminary for miss Texas USA? That seems... pathetic honestly

[> [> Subject: I believe 2013 was the closest competition last decade. Erin vs. MMM became a bit of a new Shawnae vs. Shauna. I think in other cases the right ladies won but honestly in 2013, the 5th runner-up could have won just as well... it was very tight. And honestly, Ba-Muh as a state was a bit unlucky in the last 20 years. 2 first runner ups and 2 second runner up plus multiple placements...
