I read these from a blog. I never knew of any of them, nor do I know if they are accurate.

Miss Universe was founded in retaliation. Who was responsible?

Only three countries have competed in every single Miss Universe pageant since 1952. Name them.

1957 winner Leona Gage of Maryland was stripped of her Miss USA title while competing in Miss Universe. How many lies were revealed she had stated to be able to compete? What were they? She was ultimately dropped from the top 15. Which country was given her place?

Name all of the category of awards The Miss Universe pageant has given out throughout out its history.

How many countries have announced the wrong winner to compete in Miss Universe?

Which crown that actually belonged to royalty was used in the first Miss Universe pageant?

The current Miss Universe pageant was founded in 1952. The founder was Pacific Knitting Mills, who manufactured Catalina Swimwear. They were the former sponsor of the Miss America pageant, but when Yolanda Betbeze, Miss America 1951, refused to pose for publicity photos in the swimwear, Pacific Knitting Mills responded by founding their own separate pageant.

Germany, France, and Canada.

Miss Universe officials discovered Leona Gage had been twice married at 14 (though the first marriage had been annulled), and also had given birth to two children, the second at age 16. Though it didn’t break any rules, it was also revealed that she had lied about her age (she reported she was 21 when she was in fact 18). Gage had already begun competition in the Miss Universe pageant, placing in the Top 15 semifinalists. Because it was too late for her Miss USA runner-up to replace her, she was dropped altogether and her spot in the Top 15 went to Miss Argentina.

In addition to the Miss Universe crown, the pageant gives out several other titles, including first and second runners-up, Miss Congeniality and Best National Costume, though in the past there have been awards for Miss Photogenic, Best Swimsuit, and Best Style.

Canada is one but I am sure there are others.

The Romanov crown

[> [> [> [> [> Subject: I just checked, too (at least one other website), and I'm seeing France has competed at all Miss Universe pageants. It was another trivial question (I think on here, actually) & it was posted that USA, GER & CAN were the only three. I'd like to find out the others, but I don't have time to do all that searching LOL.

[> [> Subject: Yolanda was Miss America 1951. She refused to model Catalina’s new swim wear line. Catalina pulled their sponsorship of Miss America and created Miss USA/Miss Universe. So she is a bad ass. She stood up for her rights while also being the catalyst for a new huge pageant franchise. Without her moxy, we wouldn’t be on this board. She died in 2016.
