What country has participated the most times at Miss Universe without ever making the cut?

I will put the answer in the first response below. See if you can answer without looking or googling. ;-)

As far as I know, the correct response is Bahamas, with 54 appearances (almost a perfect attendance record) and no semi-finalists. This is according to the following Wikipedia site. If anyone has other/better info, please chime in. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Miss_Universe_countries)

[> [> Subject: Yes. It's unfortunate they never placed. Egypt is a surprising non placer as well as well as Romania, Barbados and Bulgaria. One would have expected Malaysia, Portugal and Turkey to place more than once, twice and 3 times respectively. Malaysia was the most robbed country the last decade at MU. I will be going to Mauritius on the 26th, my furthest trip ever and that gorgeous island never placed either.

[> [> [> [> Subject: I loved some Mauritian delegates. Though a few of them were also a bit on the cellar dweller side. I think Curacao and Aruba are overall stronger when it comes to small, multiethnic islands but Mauritius should have placed a few times too. Thanks. I'll post a link to my pics in mid-March once I'll be back.

[> [> Subject: I think had Anastasia competed in 2009, she would have made the cut. Ironically, had she won Miss USA, she would have been competing in the Bahamas for Universe. 2011, she was just a wallflower in Brazil. And under the new format, Bahamas will never get the call

[> Subject: Bahamas has had some worthy representatives who could’ve made the cut during their years. Most notably Glennys Knowles in 1999 and Branecka Bassett in 2010
