Subject: 1960 the first African American delegate was representing Ohio, even before segregation in the south ended. In 1977, we had a black Miss Universe... in 1991, a black Miss USA, and a black Miss Teen USA... and even in 1998 and 1999 we crowned two black women back to back, one being the first black woman from Africa to win... WHY is this news? Aren't two of them half white...? How are they "shaking it up"? When over 50 years so many black women came before them and did well and were recognised?

The fact that this bothers you so much is a sign that there is plenty more shaking up left to be done.

[> [> Subject: Oh wow. Yeah, you seem to be out of sorts over this being celebrated. FYI, the fact that all 3 are African-American is a big deal. You should look introspectively to try and understand why you feel it was necessary to push back on this.
