Who are some of your most memorable introductions in the parade of states/nations?

Some of mine would be

1. Simone Vos (Suriname 1991) nearly screaming her introduction
2. Glenor Browne (St. Vincent/Grenadines 1990) dancing and shaking her dress to the mic.
3. Katie Young (Texas 1992), because I couldn't understand what she said. The night of the pageant it sounded like to me that she said something about a tupperware set, lol.

I thought it was sweet, actually, especially among the teens. Just an unscripted, human moment.

[> [> Subject: Wow I just learned a buttload of facts just by watching that opening. First, I love how DE wanted to “possibly” be a child psychologist. Maryland wants to have six children. A few of them wanted to have large families but saying “six” is so precise lol. Mississippi almost forgot to say her name. Had no idea ali landry and claudia jordan did teen. And seriously, for the longest time, I thought Tavia Shackles was a made up USB name like Latronda Sherryl.

[> Subject: I always loved watching the contestants from Papua New Guinea in Miss Universe. I thought they were the most exotic girls and I loved their costumes. They always reminded me of the natives that would come to Gilligan's Island and try to capture the castaways and have them for dinner. I especially love Miss Papua New Guinea 1982.

[> Subject: The entire parade of states/Opening number of Miss Teen USA 1987 is one of my favorites. All the screaming intros and so much 80's teenage high energy. Miss Universe 1986 had a lot of good intros too like Mehr Jessia from Bombay INDIA!!! and Brazil's Deisee D'Souza intro. Also liked Milka Chulina in 1993 when she pounds the pole on the ground when she says "Venezuelllaaa"!!. Indiana USA 1992 and the sunrise over the plains costume that folds back down after her intro. And I recall somebody at Teen USA dressed as a pot of Boston Baked Beans and Montana USA 1989 dressed up as a ring

[> Subject: For Miss Universe, I can understand most, if not all of the introductions, however, the one greeting that I still cannon decipher is from Paulien Huizinga, first runner-up at MU 1991. It sounded like “When I was in America my name is Paulien Huizinga you drive a Mercedes and I'm from the Netherlands.”

[> Subject: Just watched 1991 Miss Universe parade of Nations and there were some good ones that year. My favorite ones were Spain fanning herself during her intro, Puerto Rico saying “Toa Alta, Puerto Ricoooo!”, and as OP mentioned Surinames’s screaming intro. Other good ones were Colombia, France, Bahamas, Dominican Rep, Yugoslavia, and Guatemala
