Subject: MAO has always been very snobby towards MUO. However, on the other hand, no MUO State Director is going to turn down a hefty entry fee just because you competed on the other side of the fence. In my state, I think the state director would literally recruit someone's pet if they paid the entry fee. I think I saw her one time checking the space behind the auditorium seats looking for people's lost change after the pageant.

In reply to: Doot 's message, "I don't know all the reasoning behind this, but I think MAO has always looked down on MUO. MAO has prided itself on being all about scholarships and service, not just lately but going way back, and I think they felt that MUO was more about shallow surface beauty. Recently it's a bit different, especially as MUO has moved more in the direction of stories and achievements, and as you mentioned, they have been more welcoming to MAO. But this whole issue says a lot about MAO: in my opinion, they have always taken themselves way too seriously, and this is their biggest downfall. I hope MUO doesn't fall into the same trap." on 13:35:52 05/17/20 Sun
